Hotel du Vin is to open the second of its new restaurant concept, Bistro du Vin, on the site of the former Las Iguanas in London’s Soho, M&C Report has learnt. The company has secured the lease on the site in Dean Street. The company will open its first Bistro du Vin in Clerkenwell, at what was Bjorn van der Horst's Eastside Inn, on 8th April. The new restaurant will offer an all-day menu from breakfast through to late night dinner, with the menus overseen by Hotel du Vin chefs Keith Shearer and John Woodward. Spread over two floors, the Clerkenwell Bistro du Vin will include an open kitchen with a 30-seat bar alongside it as well as a chef's table and 14-seat private dining room downstairs. The hotel company announced plans for the Bistro du Vin concept last August, and in November it issued a mandate to property agents CWM to find it suitable 4,000sq ft locations in affluent areas of the capital. It is understood that the group plans to open up to 10 Bistro du Vin restaurants over the next five years, with further sites in the capital to be opened before it looks at other areas of the UK.
