Bill’s Restaurants, the fast-growing Richard Caring-backed chain, is close to securing its first site in the north west in Manchester, M&C Report understands.

The group, which recently secured its 30th site in total and 15th in London, with the acquisition of the Tuk Cho site in Ealing, has applied for a licence for a unit in the city’s John Dalton Street. It is thought the site will be the first of a concerted push by the group into region.

The group, which is eyeing a further 20 openings next year, currently has 27 sites in operations with openings lined up Leamington Spa, near Borough Market, Worcester and Bury St Edmunds.

Talking at M&C Report’s Restaurant Conference last month, co-managing director Scott MacDonald said that the group was also looking to improve its retail offer over the next 12 months.

MacDonald said: “We are obsessed with details and that doesn’t change with the rate of opening that we are looking to achieve. Our teams and our customers are the two key touch points for the company and that won’t change going forward. We are proud of the spirit and culture that we have developed in the company, which I think translates to the consumer.”
