Bella Italia has appointed former Noble Inns managing director Simon Holroyd as its new chief operations officer, MCA understands.

He joins the Casual Dining Group brand this week after two years at the helm of food-led pub group Noble. He was previously head of the food and beverage division of Middle east-based Al Tayer Group.

CDG told MCA that as well as operations, Holroyd will pick up local marketing, new site marketing and customer services.

Bella Italia currently operates 97 locations across the UK with its first international site opening this month, in India.

Nick White, managing director of Bella, said: “I am delighted to welcome Simon to our team. He is a talented operator and a very food-orientated individual, who has a huge passion for this industry. He brings a wealth of knowledge and discipline in the running of branded hospitality businesses, and his appointment is central to our ambitious growth plans.”
