Barburrito, the Manchester-based Mexican-style casual dining chain, has opened its 10th site in total, and its second in London, with a further site in the capital set to open before the end of the year in Holborn.

The Business Growth Fund (BGF)-backed group opened its second site in London this week in Cowcross Street, Farringdon.

It will follow this with a launch at 60B Holborn Viaduct before the year end. It opened its first London site earlier this year at Paddington Station.

Co-founder Morgan Davies told M&C Report that the group has a further five to six sites lined up for next year.

He said that the group’s first site in the capital at Paddington Station was trading above expectations and that trading across the group’s estate was currently ahead by 10-15% against last year.

The group received a £3.25m investment from the BGF last April to help it expand from six to c18 sites over the next four years

The chain, which was founded by Davies and Paul Kilpatrick, also hopes to add sites in Liverpool and Birmingham.
