Barburrito, the Morgan Davies-led chain, is ramping up its expansion plans to reach 22 restaurants in the next two years.
Davies told M&C Report the company is in heads of terms on “two or three” sites at present for openings in the new year.
“We are planning to grow our presence nationally next year and have a number of strong options in the pipeline outside of our existing estate. Cardiff is one of about six cities we are looking at.”
Davies said like-for-likes in the restaurants have been very good in the run up to Christmas following “a really strong” November.
The company, which was founded in 2010 in Manchester, has opened five sites over the past 18 months to bring its estate to 11 in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, London and Nottingham.
Davies said he is happy with the progress so far as the company looks to double its size in the next two years.
