Award-winning global restaurant brand Kosebasi is understood to have secured the former Valentina site at 75 Upper Richmond Road, Putney, for its first UK restaurant, MCA understands.

The high end Turkish steakhouse concept was established in 1995 and has c27 restaurants around the world, including: Bahrain, Brazil, Morocco and Dubai.

A premise licence for the site was granted by Wandsworth Council earlier this month for the site in Putney, which is set over two floors.

MCA reported in August last year that the business was looking for sites in prime high street locations, between 2,500 and 5,000 sq ft, while high quality shopping centres were also being considered.

At the time Kosebasi had said it was focused on central London and affluent greater London locations, including Ealing, Chiswick, Richmond, Putney and Fulham, but was also considering locations such as St Albans, Windsor and Weybridge.

It is understood that DMR Property has been retained to look for properties.

MCA reported back in 2014 that Kosebasi was looking to open a site in the UK.

Italian deli and restaurant chain Valentina Fine Foods went into administration in October 2017, with half of its eight sites closed at the time. The site at 75 Upper Richmond Road remained open at the time but closed last year.
