AmRest, a European restaurant operator, has acquired the France-based Sushi Shop Group, for c£213m.

Sushi Shop, which sells boxes of sushi for collection and delivery, is concentrated in France, but has five sites in London, the most recent opening in Richmond.

AmRest, listed in Poland but now based in Spain, runs KFC, Pizza Hut and Starbucks franchises in Europe and Russia, and has its own brands in Spain and France.

It is set to invest c£21.3m in Spanish delivery startup Glovo, to strengthen its position in all the markets where it operates in both dining in and food delivery.
