Discount retailer Aldi has launched a new pop-up restaurant, which the company said was “intended to strengthen brand loyalty among its customers”.

Called Aldi Sud, the pop-up launched this week in Cologne, Germany and will be open for three months.

Located in Cologne’s Mediapark, the restaurant, which is formed of eight shipping containers split over two floors, will serve hot and cold meals, all freshly cooked using Aldi products.

TV and street-food chef Robert Marx will create daily menus.
