Young’s has announced the immediate departure of Steve Robinson as chief financial officer.

An announcement to the stock exchange yesterday mid-morning said that Robinson had left the business to pursue other interests.

The company said it expected to appoint an interim chief financial officer in the New Year while the board searched for a permanent successor.

Stephen Goodyear, chairman of Young’s, said: “On behalf of the board I would like to thank Steve for his contribution to Young’s during the last nine and a half years, especially in the role of Chief Financial Officer since September 2016. We wish him well for the future.”

Robinson replaced Peter Whitehead in 2016, who had been finance director for 19 years. Robinson’s appointment to the board came two months after Patrick Dardis replaced Goodyear as chief executive.

He joined Young’s in June 2009 and was made head of finance in September 2013. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte and, before joining Young’s, held a number of finance roles at The Walt Disney Company.
