Young & Co, the London brewer and pub group, has continued its acquisition spree, buying three pubs from Mitchells & Butlers, M&C understands. The three freeholds, for which Young’s has paid between £7m and £8m, are part of a 15-strong package that M&B currently has on the market. The sites, two in London and one in Brighton, are thought to include two outlets currently branded as O’Neill’s, M&B’s Irish-themed bar chain. The acquisitions follow the recent purchase of three pubs from Capital Pub Company. Separately Young’s has also acquired a brace of West London pubs – in Fulham and Shepherd’s Bush – from private individuals. It is thought to be in negotiations to acquire two more in the coming weeks, which will take its acquisition spree to 10, and its managed pub business to almost 130 sites.
