Good Food Society, the high-end restaurant group, has closed its Yosma restaurant in Marylebone, and is replacing it with new concept Playa Bar, MCA understands.

Playa, set to open on 50 Baker Street, will be a lounge-bar serving South American tapas-style dishes and cocktails.

Yosma, a 4,814sq ft, 150-cover premium Turkish grill, closed last month, and is set to be relocated according to its website.

Group executive chef and chef-director of Yosma Hus Vedat was previously group executive chef at the Cerviche Group.

Good Food Society also operates high-end Italian Ristorante Frescobaldi in Mayfair and Florence, a collaboration with the Tuscan wine family, and Turkish-Greek grill Hovarda in Soho.

It is led by co-founding partner Levent Buyukurgur, who previously led Istanbul Doors, the corporate restaurant group behind Da Mario, Vogue and Anjelique nightclub; and Sanjay Nandi, who is also chief operating officer at Pacha, the Ibiza founded nightclub and lifestyle brand.

Buyukurgur opened Zuma Istanbul and expanded Tom Aitkens’ Tom’s Kitchen as part of a joint venture with Azumi.
