The Bull at Ditchling, East Sussex, has claimed the title of Great British Pub of the Year in the Great British Pub Awards 2016.

The Bull fought off strong competition from more than 1,000 pubs across the UK the title. The overall winner is selected from the Great British Pub Awards’ 16 national category winners, listed below.

After first taking the title of Freehouse of the Year, the pub, licensee Dominic Worrall was presented with the overall prize by comedian Katherine Ryan at a glittering awards ceremony at Park Lane, London tonight (5 October).

The annual awards, organised by The Morning Advertiser, were created to celebrate the trade’s finest.
