Whiting & Hammond, the multiple pub operator, has seen turnover increase to £10.02m for the 12 months to 30 September 2014 from £9.18m the previous year as it continues to add new sites.

It has identified a site in Epsom, Surrey called the Blue Ball as one of two new sites the group will add before the end of 2015.

The company has reported growth of 9.2% with operating profit was down to £137k from £275 due to the start-up costs related to opening the King’s Head in Sevenoaks in April 2014, where trading exceeded expectations.

Pre-tax profit was lower at £140,485 compared to £280,087 the year before.

The group turned around an underperforming Punch pub to create a gastro pub for the local community that has also proved popular as a destination pub with regular diners coming from the surrounding towns.

“The directors continue to look for opportunities to take on new sites, two have been identified, agreements in principals have been reached. We expect both of them to open during the calendar year 2015 after extensive refurbishment.
