Whiting & Hammond, the Kent-based multiple operator, has launched a gift card that is ‘not just for Christmas’.
The group is offering cards that can be pre-paid to any amount for use across its estate.
Managing director Brian Whiting said the initiative, which it has launched in partnership with Zonal Retail Data Systems, was completely separate from the successful loyalty card scheme.
He said: “Over the last few years we have had customers enquiring about gifts in the run up to Christmas so this seemed like something that could take off and hopefully be successful the whole year round. Perhaps the strapline should be ‘not just for Christmas’.
“We have already had some feedback from a woman in America who wants to know how she can get hold of one.
“At the moment we are asking people to call or go into any of the sites to get one.”
