Whitbread has commenced the national roll out of its remodelled Beefeater format, with the opening of a further three sites under the concept, M&C Report understands.

Earlier this year, the group said that a decision on the roll out potential of the format would be taken after it opened the seventh site under the new offer at the Observatory, Braunstone.

It is has now opened the Barn at Milton Keynes, the Barn at Hockley Heath and Glebbs Arms in Heswall under the new offer and is thought to have a further three sites lined up for conversion.

It is thought that the company has already seen a double-digit uplift in sales since it upgraded the Braunstone site to the new look.

Over the 18 months, Whitbread has made several moves to strengthen the management team and operations across its c390-strong pub restaurant operation as it looks to “flex its muscles” in the sector.
