The Welcome Pub Company, a Home Counties-based operator, has bought the Heart & Club pub in Harlow in Essex for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £75,000.
The two-storey community pub, which has been closed since late 2007, features a public bar, lounge bar and a four-bedroom owner’s accommodation.
The Heart & Club will become the 10th pub operated by Welcome Pub Company, which is run by Mike McDougal and has sites spread across the Home Counties.
The company started two and a half years ago with the opening of its first pub — Geneva’s in Peterborough.
Christie & Co handled the disposal of the lease.
