Intertain has agreed a number of link ups with leading brands to enhance its food and drink offer across its Walkabout estate, M&C Report understands.

The group, which will launch its new site in Brighton tonight after a £600k refurbishment, has teamed up with Pieminister to offer a selected list of pies on a number of its new menus.

At the same time, it has teamed up with Lavazza and Teapigs to enhance its drinks offer across selected sites.

The moves are all part of the groups focus on operating a more all-day format.

The group expects to complete six to seven upgrade projects across its Walkabout estate over the next 12 months.

Earlier this month, the group launched its search for new venues with the publication of a property requirements brochure.

The company, which recently announced a restructuring of its main debt facilities, is looking for freehold or leasehold sites of between 5,000 and 10,00sqft in “all major towns”.

The brochure says Walkabout has seen a 20% increase in female clientele and is now perceived as a “cool”, “modern” and “authentic” venue to be seen in.

The Brighton site, which previously traded as ‘Bedrock’ - will open tonight as a ‘new-style’ Walkabout, after a £600,000 refurbishment. The group invested £400,000 in its second refurbishment project of the year – in Newquay, Cornwall.

It follows the unveiling of the newly modernised Walkabout in Bristol in March.
