Veeno, the fast growing Italian wine café group, has lined up two more sites for early 2018, with 10 planned over all for the year, MCA has learnt.

The brand will open at 74 West Street, Brighton, on the former Oxygen site, as well as the Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington.

Co-founder Nino Francesco Caruso told MCA the new sites would open under franchise, with the 10 new sites to bring the group to 28 over all.

Veeno opened its first franchised store in Cardiff last year, followed by Kingston, St Paul’s and Sheffield.

He told MCA last year: “Since we launched franchising we have had a bit of a boom, but in the long term we’re looking to spread between corporate and franchised.

“We prefer business people that want to start in a new industry, or franchisees with other big operators who can open a few stores.”
