Veeno, the Italian wine cafe concept, has instructed Cedar Dean in its search for new properties as it seeks to open another 12 new sites between now and October.

Co-founder Nino Francesco Caruso told MCA most of the new sites would be franchised, with one or two corporate sites, and would see the group reach c30 sites over all, from its current base of 16.

Caruso said the strength of the concept, and track record of fast-growth, made Veeno an attractive proposition to landlords.

The next phase of growth will see Veeno expand its presence in prime markets, in particular London, while the group is also said to be eyeing an opening in Norwich.

Cedar Dean Commercial, the strategic lease management arm of the property advisory group, will provide lease advice, rent review and business rate services for Veeno.

Caruso said Veeno was in a strong position to realise its ambitions in a challenging trading environment.

He told MCA: “From a trading perspective, our model is very strong and very efficient. When there is a struggle we manage to save much more than competitors.

“On the corporate side there’s an opportunity for new properties and for landlords to renew deals, because they are afraid they might not find new tenants or lose their current ones.

“As a growing brand we’re in a very different position to everyone else.”
