Urban Pubs & Bars has acquired Paradise by Way of Kensal Green from the Columbo Group, MCA understands.

The site, on Kilburn Lane, will be the Nick Pring and Malcolm Heap-led group’s 12th outlet and comes on the heels of the acquisition of the former Southern Joe’s Table & Bar site on Kentish Town Road.

MCA understands that head chef, Cat Ashton, formerly of Petersham Nurseries, will continue to work with Urban at the pub.

The deal leaves the Columbo Group with just one pure pub site, alongside its collection of clubs, live music venues and its Blues Kitchen bar and restaurant.

Co-founder Steve Ball told MCA: “While we are obviously sad to say goodbye to a great pub we couldn’t think of better operators than Nick and Malcolm to take it on. They know pubs and they know the area so I’m confident it’ll be a perfect match.”
