Essex-based operator TLC Inns has reiterated its plans to grow its nine-strong estate to 20 over the next three and a half years.

Managing director Steve Haslam told MCA the business was currently ‘in talks with investors’ to expand its portfolio, which comprises four premium pubs and five Grand Central venues.

“We’re looking [for locations] in Essex, Hertfordshire, and Suffolk,” Haslam revealed. “For the time being we see opportunities on our home patch.”

Last week TLC Inns opened its fifth Grand Central in Chelmsford following a £750,000 investment.

Situated opposite the city’s train station, the 240 internal and 140 external cover venue was previously derelict.

Earlier this year the company invested in a brand new middle management team, appointing an operations director, food director and training director
