Stonegate, the managed pub operator, has spent more than £4m investing in 31 sites in the second trading quarter, the company has told <i>M&C Report</i>.

Major investments have included two Popworld late night bars in Swansea and Birmingham; Slug & Lettuce sites in Harpenden, Cheltenham and Lincoln; along with Yates’s in Swindon and several unbranded pubs. The most recent to open this week is Bedfords in Southampton, a traditional city-centre pub.

More than 170 additional jobs have been created.  

Stonegate commercial director Suzanne Baker said: “Our investment programme remains on track with the plan that we set out at the beginning of our financial year. Our rolling programme enables us to continually improve the facilities and environments for our customers and teams as well as stimulating job creation.”
