Stonegate Pub Company has been shortlisted as a finalist for ‘Best learning and development strategy’ at the HR Excellence Awards 2016.

The company said it was selected in recognition for the continued evolution of its ‘Albert’s Theory of Progression’ programme, and revolutionised communications and engagement in the business, with the launch of Albert’s App.

Notable results of the company’s strategy included growth of individuals, and halved staff turnover levels, for those enrolled on one of the four areas of the programme.

Simon Longbottom, Stonegate’s chief executive, said: “It’s a great honour for Stonegate to have been shortlisted for a HR Excellence Award with strong competition for these highly prestigious awards from across every sector. It reflects the commitment we have to developing our 14,000 employees, and our innovative people strategy.”

The awards ceremony, in its 21st year, will be held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 28 June.
