Stonegate Pub Company, the TDR Capital-backed group, is opening the Goose in Ramsgate, formerly the Sovereign, following a £220,000 refurbishment.
The Sovereign was operated by Bramwell until November 2013 when Stonegate acquired the group of 78 pubs from Bramwell in deal believed to be worth £35m.
The Goose will be operated under the Great Traditional Pubs arm of the Stonegate group and will serve meals throughout the day.
“Food remains a prime focus and our chefs will be presenting tasters from our exciting new menu on the launch night,” said Kelly Taylor, manager of the Goose. The menu will include pub classics, seasonal dishes and low-calorie choices.
Stonegate’s chief executive told M&C Report in February that refurbishments are planned for 25 of the ex-Bramwell sites.
