Stonegate, the managed pub operator, has appointed former Novus Leisure chief executive Tim Cullum as managing director for its Bar and Venues division, M&C Report has learnt.

The appointment is part of a restructure of the company, which is thought to be readying itself for an initial public offering later in the year, which will see Cullum lead the development of the Slug and Lettuce and Yates’s brands, as well as Stonegate’s late night venues.

The remainder of the Stonegate estate will be operated within the Proper Pubs division, overseen by Graham Jones, currently Chief Operating Officer.

Simon Longbottom, Stonegate chief executive, said:  “I am delighted to welcome Tim to Stonegate. His experience in developing and operating successful brands will be a great asset to our business.”

Cullum stepped down from Novus Leisure in October and was replaced by Toby Smith, formerly chief executive at Stonegate.
