Chris Stagg, the former deputy managing director of The Restaurant Group’s food-led pub business Brunning & Price (B&P), has joined Faucet Inn, the London-based company led by Steve Cox, as its new operations director.

Stagg replaces Richard Stringer, who left the 23-strong group earlier this year.

He joined B&P in the summer of 2012 after spending 12 years at Hall & Woodhouse, including stints as regional director and most recently head of operations. He is currently doing some consultancy work while also exploring other opportunities in the sector.

His departure came after the appointment earlier this year of Mary Willcock, the ex-managing director of the Stonegate-owned Slug & Lettuce chain, as B&P’s new managing director.

Faucet, which has a number of its sites on the market, plans to open a new £1m site in Stratford, east London, later this year.

The site will be called Neighbourhood. “It will be the heart of the community offering everything from craft beers to cocktails, pizzas and some pretty decent sharing boards,” Faucet Inn said.

The company recently re-opened the Oak Tree pub in Kent, a former Bramwell Pub Company site, after a complete refurbishment of the High Street-based site.
