Cahoots: The Ticket Hall & Control Room, will open on Kingly Street in Soho in November. The two-storey venue will open opposite the original Cahoots venue and become the second Cahoots site opened by the Inception Group, its 11th venue overall.
The Inception Group started out in 2009. Co-founders Charlie Gilkes (L) and Duncan Stirling (R) say they were "overwhelmed" by the popularity of the original Cahoots and say four years after launch it has "proved to be one of the Group’s most successful brands. In terms of both sustaining an exceptional sales record and reputation we hope the new venue will spark the same level of excitement."
The menu will feature a wartime inspired menu of British and American classics including pie, mash and liquor, fish finger sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken and waffles and Sloppy Joes
After 5pm the food menu switches to bar-style snacks, like black pudding sausage rolls with piccalilli, mini scotch egg poppers, and ham grenades (pictured here) with sour cream and chives.
An extensive and "experimental" cocktail menu continues the 1940s theme, like the Knob Twiddler, which contains Dewars, Amontillado and rhubarb sherbet, and comes smuggled within a closed radio box which must be tuned to pop open.
One of the standout cocktails on the ration book-styled cocktail menu will be the Churchill which is served in a ceramic vessel in the shape of the wartime PM's head, alongside a British Bulldog.
Other cocktail highlights include the 'Suspicious Activity' which is a blend of Woodford Reserve Rye, Scoundrels' Falernum and Crème de Menthe, topped with an edible mint ice ball and served out of a discrete waiter’s trench coat, spiv-style.
The new Cahoots joins the Inception Group's other brands, like Bunga Bunga, an Italian themed bar, pizzeria and live entertainment venue that also throws weekend brunches. At both venues in battersea and Covent Garden immersive entertainment is the focal point with live bands, karaoke, actors, entertainers and dancers.
The Group has five venues based on the Jules Verne character Phileas Fogg, including Mr Fogg’s Tavern, a Victorian-inspired pub in Covent Garden, with Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour located above, which offers over 230 gins. Last year the group opened three new Mr Fogg’s concepts: Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals (pictured) in Fitzrovia, Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration in Covent Garden and Mrs Fogg’s located in Broadgate Circle, with further openings planned for 2020.
Maggie’s is Inception's 1980s themed club in Chelsea named after the former PM. Thatcher memorabilia decorates the club alongside other iconic 80s images and paraphernalia. The DJ plays 80s classics while the bar tenders dress like Tom Cruise from the movie, Cocktail. Guests sit at giant Rubik’s cube tables.
