Andreas Antona, the chef-patron of the Michelin-starred Simpson’s in Birmingham, is understood to have joined up with Purity Brewing Company to oversee its new Pure Craft Bars venture.

The craft beer bar venture will open its first site this autumn in central Birmingham after securing a private, long-term lease on a 4,600 sq ft unit.

The new company is collaboration between Purity and Antona, and will be led by hospitality consultant Martin Hilton.

The concept will focus on an “eclectic range of beers and innovative food offering”.

The company is targeting three to four more openings in the next four to five years in the M6/M5 corridor. Just under £500,000 has been raised to date via an Enterprise Investment Scheme to fund acquisitions under Pure Craft Bars Limited.
