Simmons is to launch its first location outside London in Manchester.

The Lonsdale Capital-backed bar operator has a portfolio of c25 sites in the capital.

Speaking to MCA last year, founder and CEO Nick Campbell said Simmons is looking to take the brand nationwide after reaching “near saturation” in London.

The group aims to reach 50+ venues over the next two to three years, he added.

Simmons reported strong trading in its last accounts for the financial year to March 2023.

“I think we sit in a very good part of the market, especially when the economic climate is a bit more challenging, because we are very affordable,” Campbell told MCA. People don’t want to stop going out, they just don’t want to spend as much money.

“We have grown a lot and we are trading so well that we have managed to swallow a lot of the costs that came our way.”
