SA Brain, the Welsh brewer and pub group, has bought the distribution business of W Hall & Son for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition for the North Wales-based group creates a distribution network covering all of Wales.
The deal includes depots in Congleton, Crewe, Holywell and Liverpool, which will be added to Brain’s existing bases at Aberystwyth, Builth, Cardiff and Whitland.
Scott Waddington, chief executive, said: “At a challenging time for the drinks market, this acquisition reflects our positive long-term strategic plan to gain market share and to further advance Brain’s position as the leading independent drinks and hospitality business in Wales.”
The group also has an estate of 266 pubs, operated under a managed or leased model.
