Frederic Robinson, the North West England-based brewer, is to acquire eight pubs from Punch Taverns for an undisclosed sum.

The brewer has agreed to buy eight freeholds from Punch, including seven leased sites and one managed premises, with the deal set to complete on 28 May.

The acquisition follows Robinson’s purchase of another Punch pub last month and comes as the pub company has been trying to dispose of its sites to regional brewers to pay down its debts.

William Robinson, director at Frederic Robinson said: “We are very pleased to add eight high quality individual public houses to our estate within our core trading area.

“And we look forward to integrating these houses and introducing them to the wide range of tenancy support opportunities we offer our licensees.”
