New Inventive Bar Company, the Revolution bar operator led by Mark McQuater, has converted a number of sites to a new concept called Rift & Co, M&C Report has learnt.

The converted sites fall within the group’s 11-strong Nightjar Bars Limited operating company.

The food menu at Rift & Co includes sharing plates at prices typically around £5 each, flatbreads and burriots for around the £8 mark, and stone baked pizzas from about £7 to £10. Burgers, hot dogs and salads are also available.

The drinks menu has a strong focus on cocktails and wine.

Sites that have been converted to Rift & Co include those at Hanley in Stoke on Trent, Harrogate, Hull, Newport, Preston, Sutton, Swindon, Walsall and Watford.

M&C reported in March that the former Inventive Leisure business had been renamed New Inventive Bar Company, with the estate reorganised into three operating companies, one of which, Nightjar Bars Limited, was to eventually operate its 11 venues under a “local non-branded format”.

It was also announced that Nightjar Bars Limited would be headed by operations director Carl Anderson, who formerly worked for nightclub company Yellowhammer as well as Rank.
