Punch has announced changes to its delivery services ahead of its proposed takeover by Heineken and Patron Capital.
It follows the decision by the pubco’s current provider of delivery services, Carlsberg, to withdraw from providing distribution services in the UK.
The group has this morning announced that the 1,900 pubs due to be sold to Heineken (Punch A) will be supplied by KNDL - the incumbent distributor for Heineken’s Star Pubs and Bars business.
The remaining 1,355 pubs being acquired by Patron Capital will be served by Marston’s.
Punch chief executive Duncan Garrood said: “We are pleased to announce today the conclusion of a lengthy period of negotiation, with KNDL becoming our distribution supplier for the Pubs that will transfer to Heineken, and Marston’s plc servicing our retained Punch Pubs.”
“There are clear benefits to both of these arrangements with KNDL being able to provide a smooth transition for the set of Pubs that will transfer when the sale of Punch is finalised.”
“It is especially pleasing to be able to Partner with Marston’s, a Midlands based UK business with great experience of Pubs, to supply the Punch product range to the retained Punch Pubs moving forward.”
“We now progress to changing over our supply arrangements from Carlsberg to Marston’s and KNDL in an efficiently managed process to provide our Publicans with the very best service.”
