Brokers Dresdner Kleinwort remain positive on pubs stocks which continued to trade lower on Friday ahead of an update from Enterprise Inns this week. They advise investors to buy JD Wetherspoon, which was down 7.5p at 254.5p, and Greene King, which slipped 6.75p t 493.25p. The latter was described as well managed, with strong brands and enjoying the flexibility of the integrated model. JD Wetherspoon, meanwhile, was the 10th most shorted stock in the market and was “ideally positioned to weather the economic malaise”. Enterprise, though, remains Dresdner’s top pick in the sector.
