Premier Leisure, the fledgling nightclub and pub operator, has secured its third site, a 1,100-capacity, three-room nightclub in Chelmsford, Essex. The leasehold site will be named Evoke and is set to open in about one month. The venue, which will operate under the Stort Leisure trading arm, will feature three separate rooms: an ‘ice bar’, a nightclub and an Oriental-themed room called Kudou. The first Stort Leisure nightclub, Scorch in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, opened in 2010. Premier Leisure co-founder Nick Harmston said the company is also hoping to complete soon on a second outlet under its Chelmer Pubs subsidiary. Chelmer Pubs’ first site, the Bay Horse Inn at Chelmsford, opened last August. Premier Leisure was founded by Harmston, who has run managed pubs with major operators including Marston’s, TCG and Laurel, and Steve Webb, who formerly ran a number of nightclubs in the south east before moving into property development.
