Peach Pub Co, the food pub specialist led by entrepreneurs Lee Cash and Hamish Stoddart, has acquired its seventh pub. The group has taken the Old Mill in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire, through a lease agreement with Punch Taverns. Peach, which will take control of the site in early December, intends to spend £400,000 refurbishing the listed Victorian site in the spring. The site currently has a 70-cover restaurant and a private dining room. Cash said: “The pub backs on to a weir and has a courtyard area that we'd like to make the most of - we're really excited and can't wait to get stuck in.” Through a joint-partner agreement, Peach has recruited Alan Turtill, previously operations manager at the Roof Gardens in London's Kensington, to run the Old Mill. Turtill will own a third of the new pub alongside Cash and Stoddart.
