New World Trading is to open the second iteration of its Florist concept next year – after securing the Old Blind School site in Liverpool.

The Florist, which is also due to launch in Bristol next year, will open on Hardman Street in early 2018, joining the group’s Smuggler’s Cove and Club House concepts in Liverpool.

It will be situated in the former Royal School for the Blind, an 1850’s Grade 2 listed building, which was most recently operated by New Moon Co.

NWTC chief executive Chris Hill said: “We are excited to be opening our second Florist in the former Old Blind School pub. The Florist will be following in the success of our other venues, The Club House and Smugglers Cove. We are very much looking forward to immersing The Florist in local life.”

NWTC announced last week that it had grown sales 33% in the year to 31 March to £40.1m. The group, which opened its 20th outlet this week in West Bridgford, increased adjusted operating profit 41% to £5.1m.
