Novus Leisure, the Toby Smith-led operator, has consolidated its estate in London’s Soho with the disposal of its Shadow Lounge site, MCA understands.

The site has been acquired by lap dancing and nightclub operator SophistiCats, the Simon Langer-led business, which already operates a site in Marylebone Lane.

Smith told MCA that the group has decided to dispose of Shadow Lounge to “concentrate our efforts on our other Soho venues”, which include Bar Soho.

The HayFin Capital Management-backed group is to ramp up its investment in its Balls Brothers estate, after the success of its initial refurbishment projects.

The group will upgrade its Hays Galleria Ball Brothers site; whilst converting two sites from the old Lewis and Clarke format (Gallery, Liverpool Street and The Last on Shoe Lane) to the concept, taking it to nine sites.

The group currently operates seven sites under the Balls Brothers format.

CDG Leisure acted on the Shadow Lounge deal.
