Novus Leisure has appointed Peter Boddy as its new chairman.

Boddy, who is non-executive chairman at The Original Bowling Company, has previously served on the Thwaites board and was chief executive of Megabowl.

Novus chief executive Toby Smith, said: “I am delighted to welcome Peter to the Board. His extensive experience of leisure businesses will be invaluable to the whole Novus team, and we look forward to working closely with him as we deliver the next stage of the Novus growth plan.”

The group has begun its 2016 capital investment programme with a £900,000 investment at Sway in Great Queen Street in London’s Covent Garden which is due to re-open at the end of this month. At the start of January it announced the closure of Tiger Tiger in Croydon and Mansion House in Glasgow.

Boddy is also currently chairman of The Harley Medical Group; and non executive chairman of Xercise4Less.
