Nicholson’s, Mitchell and Butlers ‘real pub’ brand, is to open its 79th site this month in London’s O2.

Amongst other wet-led brands like Slug & Lettuce and All Bar One, the pub, named The Observatory, will be The O2’s only traditional pub offering when it opens next Friday (21 February).

It will offer seasonal pub dishes such as fish and chips and pies, and house a collection of cask ale, gin and whisky, including its own Nicholson’s Pale Ale (NPA).

“We are excited to welcome The Observatory into the Nicholson’s stable,” said William Prideaux, Nicholson’s operations director. “This opening marks the start of the next stage of growth for Nicholson’s as we look to grow the estate further. We have identified a number of opportunities where we can evolve the next generation of great British pubs and look forward to bringing these to fruition.”
