Piers Adam, who owns London's hottest bar Mahiki, deliberately designed it to be "naff" with its over-the-top Polynesian theme. Yet the Mayfair nightspot, which only opened two months ago, now counts Princes William and Harry and Sienna Miller among its customers. Adam says he wanted to create the antithesis of "all the glamorous slick superclubs" in London. The place rejoices it its own uncoolness. The décor is bamboo and rattan, with guests drinking cocktails out of divers' helmets and watermelons. Adam also launched Kartouche, and also enjoyed success with Kabaret Rock and Hanover Grand.
