Greene King has confirmed to M&C that Alan Morgan, the last remaining senior member of the Spirt Pub Company executive team, is to leave the business later this year.

Morgan, chief operating officer for Spirit, has been working on the integration of the estate.

Rooney Anand, Greene King chief executive, said: “Alan has done a fantastic job of leading the Spirit team since we acquired the business in June. I would like to thank him for all he has done and wish him the very best for the future. Over the coming months, Alan will continue to support the integration of Spirit and ensure a smooth hand-over to the Greene King executive team.”

Greene King announced in November that John Forrest, formerly chief operating officer of Premier Inn, was joining as chief operating officer for the company’s retail business. He started work last week with Jonathan Webster, who has been acting as integration director overseeing the merger of Spirit and Greene King, retiring. Webster’s role has been taken by Richard Lewis, who was managing director of the retail division.

This week also saw Spirit’s former communications and compliance manager Elaine Beckett join former Spirit Leased managing director Chris Welham at Wiltshire brewer and pub operator Wadworth as head of retail PR and communications.
