Moles Brewery, the Wiltshire-based brewer and pub operator is taking on an ex-Stars Pubs & Bars pub in Bristol and is looking to acquire another two by the end of 2015, M&C Report has learnt.

The Full Moon in Fishponds, a commercial district of Bristol, will undergo a £250k refurbishment to completely remodel it inside and out in as a traditional pub with an updated feel.

Keith Reynolds, operations director of Moles and Cascade Drinks, told M&C Report: “The new look will focus on craft ales and food; at the moment there is no food offering to speak of and the pub is performing very poorly.”

The pub will close for five weeks for a complete refurbishment inside and out; on re-opening in July it will serve fresh coffee throughout the day to attract a different clientele and a whole new menu featuring burgers, sharing platters and sliders.

The Full Moon will be operated by Cascade Public House Management, which will appoint a manager to run the pub and earn a commission.

Reynolds said Moles and Cascade are “looking all the time” for the next acquisition and will make the next one when the right site becomes available.

The Full Moon is the first of three acquisitions the group is aiming to make by the end of 2015 and brings the total estate to nine pubs across the Wiltshire.

Moles Brewery produces a range of real ales from its site in Wiltshire that are sold in pubs throughout the UK.
