Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) is set to open the first London-based site for its fast-growing steakhouse brand, Miller & Carter, MCA understands.
The company, which currently operates 71 sites under the brand, is set to convert its O’Neill’s site in Muswell Hill, north London, to a Miller & Carter this summer.
It has further openings lined up for the concept in Aylesbury, St Albans, Exeter, Lytham St Annes and Swindon over the next couple of months.
M&B intends to grow the Miller & Carter estate to 100 sites by 2018.
The majority of openings have been conversions from existing brands, including a number from the company’s Harvester estate.
They have been delivering EBITDA returns of more than 40% on average.
Last year, M&B chief executive Phil Urban said M&B’s portfolio gave it a strong pipeline of future conversion opportunities to continue successfully growing the brand.
