Metro Inns, the East Anglian operator, has grown its estate to ten after taking on an Enterprise Inns lease in King’s Lynn.

The Maids Head has now reopened, following a £190,000 joint investment, with an increased focus on food and the creation of a 120-cover dining area.

The refurb also saw two rooms converted into a single bar.

Metro Inns, headed by directors Sean Driscoll and Gary Wood, already operate nine pubs across East Anglia, including The White Horse, in Gaywood; and The Masons Arms, Bury St Edmonds.

Enterprise regional manager Martin Obey said: “We saw an opportunity to invest in The Maids Head and reposition it to take advantage of the town centre improvements that have made a huge difference over recent years.

“We’re delighted to have attracted experienced operators in Sean and Gary, who recognise the potential to develop the pub into a quality destination for a drink and meal out.”

Maids Head general manager Tom Newman said: “The pub’s full of character, and we aim to provide an authentic experience to match. This means serving proper traditional beers alongside fresh and affordable home cooked food featuring locally sourced ingredients.”
