Merlin Entertainments has teamed up with Coca-Cola to give half-price entry to visitors who bring an empty plastic bottle for recycling.
Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland Windsor will install reverse vending machines until 17 October.
Thorpe Park will also feature Coca-Cola’s ‘Freestyle’ machine which enables visitors to pre-load money onto an RFID chip in a refillable cup.
Leendert den Hollander, VP & general manager at CCEP said: “Ultimately, we want to reach the point where 100% of our packaging is collected, reused or recycled – and where none of it ends up as litter in our streets, parks or in the oceans.”
Sandra Hazel at Merlin Entertainments said: “We care about recycling and know that our customers do too. The partnership was a great way to work together to protect the planet and was just one of the initiatives it was invested in to increase recycling at its attractions.”
