Ian Dunstall, the former insights and innovation director at Mitchells & Butlers (M&B), has joined Russia’s largest casual restaurant chain, as senior vice president marketing.

Dunstall left M&B last September after 16 years to set up his own consultancy business joins former M&B business development director Kevin Todd at Rosinter, which currently operates 382 restaurants in total across 10 countries, including the Czech Republic and Poland.

Todd is chief executive and president, while another former M&B man David Singleton is the group’s brand director.

Last April McDonald’s, the global fast food chain, announced it would franchise out restaurants in Russia for the first time after picking Rosinter as its partner in the fast-growing market.

The chain still plans to open 40 to 45 company-owned restaurants per year in the country, but the deal with Rosinter would allow the chain to start expanding in non-traditional locations like airports and railway stations.

Rosinter operates TGI Friday’s franchises and is a joint-venture partner in Russia with Whitbread to develop its Costa Coffee brand.
