Restaurant, pub and bar operator Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) has topped M&C Report’s sister publication Restaurant Magazine’s list of the 200 largest restaurant and food-led pub groups in the UK, ranked by number of sites.
The 2012 R200 list, revealed yesterday at the Corinthia Hotel in London, showed that M&B – which has not previously featured on the list - has debuted at number one, driven by the continued expansion of its Harvester andToby Carvery formats and the launch of its new South East Asian cuisine concept Tuk Cho.
The group also has the likes of Browns Bar and Brasserie and All Bar One within its UK portfolio.
Pizza Express operator Gondola Group, which has topped the list for the previous four years, was this year placed second, while The Restaurant Group – which manages the Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito and Garfunkel’s brands, shifted down to third.
