To mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25 June 2016, Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) has signed the Armed Forces Covenant in recognition of its active support for the Services in the UK.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The Armed Forces work with a range of business partners in order to support those who serve. As a Covenant member M&B is committing to proactively working with the Armed Forces community through both employing Reservists and ex-service personnel and encouraging them to join the business in future career.
The company said it regularly looked to the ex-forces and Reservists for new recruits as it continues to innovate the hospitality sector.
Phil Urban, chief executive of M&B, said: “Mitchells & Butlers, like the Armed Forces, brings together a diverse community along with a number of different careers and opportunities. The ability to be self-motivated, flexible and work as part of a team are key attributes for our staff in all elements of our companies and are just some of the attributes that time served in the Armed Forces can bring.”
In addition, M&B’s Toby Carvery restaurants will be honouring Armed Forces Day by offering all military personnel a free carvery on Saturday 25 June.
