The Lytham Hospitality Group has taken on its third site with Star Pubs & Bars, as it looks to grow its estate to 10 over the next seven years.

The family-run North West pub operator acquired The Eagle & Child in Weeton, and is to undertake a joint £750k refurbishment of the pub, which is due to reopen in May.

The décor will be upgraded inside and out, with a vegetable patch to be grown for the pub’s use, and the addition of a beer garden with a boules court and outdoor table tennis and an orangery on the back of the pub with seating for 64 additional guests.

Partner at Lytham Hospitality, Ross Robinson – who was previously ops manager at Mission Mars – said: “We could immediately see the raw potential of The Eagle & Child. It was a sleeping giant which at one time had a reputation as a phenomenal food pub which we want to regain.

“Our plan is to grow our estate from three to 10 venues over the next seven years, initially along the Fylde Coast and longer term across the North West,” he added.

The Group also operates The Queens Hotel Lytham and The Ship Inn, in Freckleton.
